The idea that kids, non universes when all is said in done, are influenced by the considerations and activities of their parental figures is other than a cardinal idea of the book, # 8220 ; The Lord of the Flies # 8221 ; by William Golding. Due to the war in England where the male childs were from their homo experience was one of war. On the off chance that there was no war going on in England at the clasp they were cleared from England, there would # 8217 ; ve been no perishes, no Lord of the Fliess, and unquestionably no creature. Provided that they had accompanied a decent human instinct so how might at that spot hold been a creature which Golding delegated the essential detestable inside us all. Something else that connects to this that children attempt to transcript what they see adults do as such if a child sees an adult smoke up or soak up so he may accept that it is good or it is correct in light of the fact that their folks do it. As George Orwell one time said # 8220 ; Part of the ground for the grotesqueness of adults, in a kid # 8217 ; s eyes, is that the child is typically looking upwards, and the adults are only from time to time looking down. However no issue what they will ever worship, gaze upward to and love their folks. # 8221 ; But as was simply said at times that can be a terrible thing. So what must we make? Well for turning over engines why non look to become familiar with our children better and endeavor no matter what to put great delineations for our children with the goal that our general public will ideally be rescued from the God neglected rage of impropriety. Kids who # 8217 ; s guardians smoke have a 40 % higher chance of smoking than kids who # 8217 ; s guardians wear # 8217 ; t smoke.1 Opportunities are it is a blend of two things, first the way that they believe that it is alright for them to make it since their guardians do it, the second is a direct result of the nicotine reliance could be passed on from adults to their descendants. Most children will non make it as a defiant act only in light of the fact that they see their folks making it so therefor it is good. Presently as was expressed quickly aforesaid childs will a group of the clasp make what their folks do on the grounds that they admire them so why wouldn # 8217 ; t they duplicate what the adults are making. So for what reason can # 8217 ; t we simply stop entirely in light of the fact that we have a lethargic culture who winnows change so this may take a clump longer than would be sought after. # 8220 ; The solitary thing that one really thinks about human instinct is that it adjustments. Change is the one quality we can predicate from it. The frameworks that fizzle are the individuals who depend on the changelessness of human instinct, and non on its developing also, advancement. The mix-up of Louis XIV was that he figured human instinct would ever be the equivalent. The result of his misstep was the Gallic Revolution. It was an commendable outcome. # 8221 ; So with this in head for what reason do individuals despite everything depend on homo nature to remain a similar when it has been demonstrated that human instinct is perpetually adjusting. That is the reason our state has non late had a resistance since our sires had bounty understanding to cognize that things would non be the same 200 mature ages from so. This idea was appeared all through the book by the childs modifying their heads and revolting. First all the children concurred that guidelines were expected to keep up request among themselves. At that point when they felt the boring and disagreeable side of work and guidelines they changed their human instinct to that of a shirker or a person who doesn # 8217 ; t follow society # 8217 ; s guidelines and doesn # 8217 ; t exertion to make progress toward greatness. Other than in the wake of casting a ballot Ralph the president, individuals still along these lines concurred and followed Jack. So in a general sense al that can be assembled by this data is that neer trust on human instinct to remain the equivalent. In choice, in spite of the fact that it might no work because of the invariable changing of human instinct, we should look for non to put awful representations for more youthful 1s who gaze upward to us, what's more look to give our children the best life we can flexibly for them what's more, gain them directly from inaccurate and learn them the privilege moral thought processes. Fundamentally, we ought to simply look to cause the best child rearing occupation we to can make and trust the data what's more, things you trained the person in question will help them through life.

The Cold War and U.S. Diplomacy Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words - 2

The Cold War and U.S. Discretion - Essay Example 20). All through the residency of John F Kennedy, the atomic weapons contest with the USSR and the Cold War remained his prime concerns. As a president and a legislator the spread of socialism happened to be the purpose of center for John F Kennedy and he thought about the onus of wresting a regulation of socialism as the significant need of the United States of America (Bose, 1998). What were the qualities and repercussions of the regulation system shunned by Kennedy? Kennedy accepted that Soviet Union was an intense and intractable adversary that sought to spread its influence over the world by and large and in the Western Hemisphere specifically. In this manner Kennedy laid decided weight on the need to keep up a perceived leverage against the Soviet Union even at the expense of abridging other striking objectives (Bose, 1998, p. 23). On the one side Kennedy’s regulation tenet visualized to reduce the military danger presented by the Soviet Union to the partners and the Uni ted States and on the opposite side it proposed to contain the Soviet impact attributable to the political and monetary repercussions of a potential spread of the socialist precept (Bose, 1998)). In this way, considering the military and politico-financial prospects natural in the development of Soviet impact, the core of the Kennedy precept was to confine the spread of socialism in nations over the world. ... The one striking subject of Kennedy’s regulation principle was the declaration that as United States had the fortitude and the ability to impact and control occasions at the global level, in this way the country must assume a proactive job in really doing as such. Articulate a portion of the universal occasions and emergency circumstances that featured the ramifications of President Kennedy’s control principle? Regulation principle manifested different political and strategic implications during Kennedy’s residency. Kennedy affirmed the Bay of Pigs intrusion which included the attack of Cuba by a power of CIA prepared Cuban outcasts in 1961 (Higgins, 1987, p. 161). This intrusion appreciated a functioning consolation and backing from the Kennedy organization (Higgins, 1987). Tragically the whole power of the prepared Cuban outcasts was either slaughtered or caught and Kennedy openly claimed the obligation regarding the disappointment of this attack (Higgins, 1987 ). The Bay of Pigs intrusions showed the dedication of the Kennedy government to shorten the socialist impact in the Western Hemisphere. The 1961 Berlin Crisis happened to be the last significant politico-military showdown between the USSSR and the US on the European soil that saw a lot of strategic activity with respect to Kennedy organization, couple with the notable control tenet. The Berlin emergency was started by the USSSR as it requested an unlimited withdrawal of the Western powers from the West Berlin (Barnes, 2005, p. 194). This emergency finished with the segment of Berlin and the erection of the Berlin Wall (Barnes, 2005, p. 195). In compatibility of his strategy of regulation, Kennedy reacted to the Berlin Crisis by starting a huge increment

5 Alternatives to an Expensive Cash Advance - OppLoans

5 Alternatives to an Expensive Cash Advance - OppLoans 5 Alternatives to an Expensive Cash Advance 5 Alternatives to an Expensive Cash AdvanceIf youre considering an expensive cash advance loan to cover unforeseen expenses, make sure you check out your other options, first. When an unexpected bill rears its ugly head, you might find yourself taking out one or more high-interest cash advances in order to make ends meet. These short-term payday loans might seem like the only option you have available to youâ€"especially if you’ve got bad creditâ€"but they most likely are not.Instead of simply settling for an expensive cash advance loan, make sure you explore every possible way to cover that surprise expense. These five alternatives are a good place to start.1. Friends and family.Easier said than done, right? And it’s true! Borrowing money from friends and family has a lot of advantages over taking out an expensive cash advance loan, but it certainly has its downsides as well. The positives: It’s a fair bet that you’ll pay a much lower interest rate on this loan than you would on cash advance loans, which come with average APRs of 400 percent! You might even be able to borrow that money interest-free! Although that isn’t something you should count on.The downsides, on the other hand, are pretty obvious. Failing to pay back this money might not end up hurting your credit score, but it could irreparably damage your relationship with a person you’re close to.Unlike with a traditional loan, friends and family members are more likely to be flexible with your payment dates. This is a positive that can easily become  a negative. If you are constantly blowing past pre-agreed upon due dates (or the two of you never set a date, to begin with), that could be the end for that relationship. If you are able to borrow money from a friend or family member instead of taking out a cash advance loan, we recommend that you and the other party set crystal clear terms before any cash changes hands. We even have a loan agreement template that you two can use to get those ter ms in writing.2. Credit cards. One of the reasons that people turn to cash advance loans is because they don’t have a credit card or they have maxed out the ones they already have. Folks in these situations often have the kinds of low credit scores that prevent them from taking out a new card. All that having been said, if you do have the option of putting an emergency expense on a credit card instead of a cash advance loan, it will mean lower interest rates and more manageable payments. It’s not a good option, but it’s a better bad option. With a payday cash advance loan, you’ll have to pay the entire thing off at oneâ€"interest and principal. And while the promise of getting out of debt quickly sounds good, the reality of the situation is different. According to a study from the Pew Charitable Trusts, well over 80 percent of payday loan borrowers don’t have the money in their monthly budgets to afford their loans. This means that many borrowers are left to either take out a new loan immediately after they pay off the old one or “roll over” the original loanâ€"extending the due date in return for a brand new interest charge. Either way, they can soon find themselves stuck in a predatory cycle of debt.Credit cards can also leave you stuck in a debt cycleâ€"let’s make that clearâ€"but they do let you pay off a larger bill more gradually, and with a much lower interest rate. You should still pay off the charge as aggressively as you can, but you’ll be given far more breathing room to do so.Racking up massive amounts of credit card debt can be a huge problem. But when compared to cash advance loans, credit cards are a far more affordable option.3. Installment loans. Not all bad credit loans are of the short-term variety. Some come with longer repayment terms and an amortizing payment structure where you pay the loan off in a series of regularly scheduled paymentsâ€"just like regular personal loans! These are installment loans, and they’re worth a lo ok. While it’s tough to make broad statements across the many different lenders, borrowers, and local regulations governing these types of loans, the right bad credit installment loan could be a much better option for you than a short-term cash advance. The right bad credit loan will have lower rates than a payday cash advance or title loan, and it will also come with more manageably sized payments that fit your budget. And certain bad credit installment lenders, like OppLoans, also report your payment information to the credit bureaus, which means that making your payments on time could help raise your score! If you’re considering a bad credit installment loan, take a look at whether or not the lender checks your ability to repay. While these loans are generally considered “no credit check loans”â€"because the lenders don’t run a hard credit check when you applyâ€"some lenders still do their due diligence. All things being equal, the more a lender cares about your ability to repay, the less likely you are to end up with a storefront or online loan that you simply can’t affordâ€"and never should have been allowed to borrow in the first place.4. Pawn shops. In case you’re not familiar with them, here’s how pawn shops work. You bring in a valuable piece of property and you use it as collateral to secure a small-dollar loan. You then have a set amount of time to pay the loan back, which varies from state to state, and oftentimes you’ll have an option to extend). If you don’t pay the loan back (plus interest) the pawn shop is able to sell your collateral. That’s it!Obviously, there are downsides to this: namely, the loss of your valuables! Plus, you’ll be hard-pressed to receive a loan that’s actually worth the item’s full value. But still, having the option to forfeit your collateral instead of paying the loan back is better than being forced into a predatory cycle of debt.Like with credit cards, taking out a pawn shop loan isn’t necessa rily a good option, but it’s certainly a less-bad option than taking out a high-interest cash advance loan.5. An emergency fund. For folks who already need to cover an unexpected expense, this option won’t do you much good. The point of an emergency fund is to already have it in place before you need that extra cash. This way, you don’t have to worry about borrowing any money at all!But for everyone else, building and maintaining a well-stocked emergency fund is the best alternative to an expensive cash advance. The earlier you start building one, the better.Experts generally recommend an emergency fund large enough to cover six-months living expenses. That’s a lot of money! But instead of letting yourself get overwhelmed, just start saving whatever money you canâ€"even if it’s as little as a few dollars a week. Not sure how exactly to start saving? No problem. price discrimination versus price differentiation

Price Differentiation vs. Price Discrimination Price differentiation and price discrimination: two terms used in Marketing and Economy. First of all, it is appropriate to make an accurate definition for both of the terms. Price differentiation is a pricing strategy that â€Å"charges different segments of customers altered prices for the same products or services.† Likewise, we can meet with the same definition if we look for price discrimination definition. Then, is there a difference between price differentiation and price discrimination? If yes, what is the difference between them? Price differentiation is based on the†¦show more content†¦According to authors, price differentiation has long been recognized as a strategy that companies can use to increase profits when consumers tastes and valuations of a good differ. Operating multiple distribution channels (e.g., offline and online stores) gives companies an opportunity to apply differential prices in these different contexts. However, existing empirical studies suggest that multi-channel retailers charge uniform prices through their different distribution channels in order to preserve channel consistency and avoid consumer complaints. In a market which has heterogeneous tastes and different products, companies can increase their profits by segmenting consumers and charging differential prices, which allows to capture additional consumer surplus. In the article, the authors mentions about the first study and analyze whether multi-channel retailers charge different prices for the same product through online and offline channels. The authors suggests that the price differentiation is profitable on the condition that the ratio of the marginal social value from an increase in quality to the total social value of the good increases with consumers willingness to pay. (Anderson Dana, 2009) Moreover, they explain the key conditions for a successful price differentiation related with market, retailer, and product characteristics. Laws serve as the benchmark of policy to the citizens, they also provide Protocall as to what is accepted in communities. The Conservative Values Of Their Parents - 1156 Words

teenagers retained the conservative values of their parents. This is not a logical conclusion nor is it supported by the substance of his earlier text. Oakley, unlike Pennington, appears to be writing from a religious perspective based on the title of his work, â€Å"God’s Country, America in the Fifties† which influenced his final conclusion. He cites surveys from college professors that supposedly reveal that the majority of teenagers retained conservative values. He seems naà ¯ve and out of touch with the true majority of the youth of the country during that time and only focuses on the values of college students to support his conclusion that 1950’s youth did not stray from the morals and values of their parents. His perspective seems to be written from the â€Å"white perspective† rather than an unbiased view. He continues to contradict himself when he concludes at the end of his piece that parents were still worried. If these youths had retained the ir conservative values, it would make no sense for the parents to be worried about their behavior. Pennington’s essay stays consistent throughout. He provides a more thoughtful and unbiased argument to support his conclusion that Rock and Roll and the new forms of consumerism expressed the inner conflict between conservative and rebellious forces for high school teenagers who wanted to rebel against their parents yet retain their conservative values. The problem here is whether he should just strictly compete in the Olympics or just strictly in the Paralympics or should he able to compete in both like he did this past summer. I think that Oscar should have be allowed to compete in, and continue to run in an able-bodied sport such as the Olympics and in the Paralympics because he is obviously able to keep up with other individuals. I also think this because he is also challenging the other competitors. In my opinion just because he has the prosthetic legs doesn’t give him any more of an advantage. He has worked his whole life to get to where he is now and has dedicated his time to running and getting better as an athlete and individual. If he is able to keep up with all the other competitors then why should he not be able to participate in the Olympics. I think Oscar is an inspiration to many. I say this because he has beaten the odds and has gotten to place that no one else has gotten to. Becoming the first differently abled person to run in the Olympics and then making it to the semifinals of the 400m dash. He is great example of how human spirit can overcome adversity and so many barriers. I believe that Pistorius is truly a person that an individual with less ability can look up to. Another reason I have for him to be able to continue to run in the Olympics is because he brings great camaraderie to the atmosphere. After his final heat in the Olympics the winner, Kirani James, of that heat came up to him and wapped name tag/bib number. He said this to a reporter â€Å"I just see him as another athlete, another competitor. Whats more important is I see him as another person. Hes someone I admire and respect. † This quote right here from a competitor just says it all. If he is able to respect him as a competitor then I don’t see why everyone else in this sport cannot. He doesn’t look at him like he is â€Å"disabled† or any differently. He looks at Oscar as another individual that is trying to achieve the same goal he is. One counter argument would be that Oscar shouldn’t be able to run in able-bodied sports, such as the Olympics, because he has an unfair disadvantage because of his prosthetics. Some would say that he doesn’t have as much mass on his legs so therefore he doesn’t expend as much energy to get his legs moving thus making him faster. Others would also say that the prosthesis has more push and spring to them making him faster with his stride frequencies. A stride frequency or swing is the number or strides that a runner takes over a certain time period. According to the Journal of Applied Physiology â€Å"our analysis identifies two modifications of existing lower limb prostheses that would further enhance speed for double transtibial amputees: reduced mass to further decrease minimum swing times and increased length to further increase contact lengths. † From this finding it shows that there is an advantage to having a prosthesis. Some may say that there is also a psychological disadvantage to the competitors. One disadvantage is that they may or may not have lower expectations because he is â€Å"disabled†. What I mean by this is that he/she may lower their standards because they know that they are going to beat him and they don’t have to try as hard. Another psychological disadvantage may be that since they know he is â€Å"disabled† then they may or may not feel bad beating him. He/she may not want to beat him because it â€Å"looks bad on their part. † This could also affect the confidence of the competitors as well. Whether they should show him up and beat him or whether they should tone down a level and let him only lose by a second or two. I am going to end this with restating my opinion in that I do believe that he should be able to participate in both the Paralympics and Olympics because he has earned his right to compete in the Olympics by making the times and having the drive to succeed. One thing that has stuck in my head the whole time I have been writing this is a quote that Oscar has said â€Å"you are not disabled by your disabilities, but abled by your abilities. † I think that this quote means a lot. Its whether you decide to let you disability define you or you embrace it and live life.

Lenses experiment plan Essays

Lenses experiment plan Essays Lenses experiment plan Essay Lenses experiment plan Essay Lenses are a transparent material shaped to refract light. Lenses are remarkable and have helped mankind develop in the so many years the world now uses for almost and visual activity from swimming goggles to open heart surgery lenses are used in some form. But lenses are not all the same. There are two main types of lenses convex and concave. These two lenses are opposites of each other and produce different images. Concave lenses are rarer to find in every day life. A concave lens is curved inwards it is shaped like two dishes placed back-to-back. Light passing through a concave lens diverges. Unlike convex lenses, which produce real images, concave lenses produce only virtual images. A virtual image is one from which light rays only appear to come from but in actual fact the do not. This appears as a smaller to produce image just in front of the actual object. Concave lenses are generally prescribed for short-sighted, people. Concave lenses help the eyes to produce a sharp image on the retina instead of in front of it. Convex lenses are more common in everyday life. The lens is very thick in the middle and thinner at the edges. With the unique shape of then lens it causes the lens to converge any light rays that pass through. This produces an image on any surface on the other side of the lens. The human eye lens is a convex lens and is more like an elastic lens and can change its shape to focus. When viewing objects at a distance the lens becomes short at and fat and when viewing objects close up visa versa. Aim: I will be using a ray box with concave and convex lenses to measure focal points. This will be done by sating up a ray box with a convex/concave lens and shining a ray beams through the lenses and drawing over the beams. With this experiment I hope to acquire the skill of measuring focal points and I will hopefully be able to use this skill later on in higher levels science. Safety There are many safety issues that arise when dealing with electricity and laboratorys that is why when conducting an experiment all safety aspects need to be thought about before carrying out the experiment otherwise someone could occur electrocution or a serious injury when conducting the experiment. Its a known fact that the human body can be damaged by electrical currents that is why it is important to take safety measures such as conduct the experiment away from water to prevent electrical fires. Before any experiments are started all the leads and wires should be checked for cuts and loos wiring exposed wiring etc. Another way of preventing electrical fires or electrocution is by checking that the equipment that is has a circuit breaker or a fuse with the rite amp. Another aspect of safety which needs to be considered is the breakage of glass. There are many safety issues that arise when dealing with glass. One of the main parts of the human body when carrying out experiments are they eyes do to the fact they can easily be damaged and are clearly one of the most delicate exposed parts of the human body. To protect these fragile biological sensors a form of protection is crucial. The most common form of eye protection in the laboratory are the goggles. The goggles appear to be very unattractive to many people but and are often interoperated as a burden and not a safety precaution. The goggles are made out of thick plastic which prevents any flying glass entering the eye and causing any harm to the eyes. Within the laboratory there are frequent breakages which can have damaging affects and can cause injury. That is why it is important to try and prevent breakages knowing what the effect of a breakage is and what to do about it. When these breakages occur they can be on minor scale or a disastrous scale. This depends whether the glass is shatters or breaks in to jagged pieces, most lab breakages are on a minor scale and can simply be swept up by using a brush. With hazardous breakages do not attempt to clear the breakage and find someone qualified to attend to the breakage. Method When the experiment was carried out the first thing that needed to be attended to was having all the correct equipment and materials at hand. The following equipment and materials were gathered: * Protractor- A semicircular instrument used for measuring and constructing angles. * Mirror- A surface that reflects light at the angle it hit the surface which creates a virtual image. * Convex lens- A lens which converges light. * Concave lens- A lens which diverges light. * Power pack- A power pack which controls the amount of energy that goes to the light box * Grates- To split the light in to equal and parallel rays. * Pencil- A rod of graphite cased in wood or metal used for drawing or writing which can be erased by an eraser. * A3 paper- paper twice the size of A4 paper used to draw and write on. Once the equipment had been gathered it was placed and was set-up in the centre of the table. A sheet of plain A3 paper was placed on the table with a light box on top of it. Then light box was connected to the power pack and a 3 ray grate was placed at the end of the ray box. Once the ray box was set-up a convex lens was placed in the centre of the sheet of paper and all the equipment was drawn around. Once the equipment had been drawn around the light ray box was switched on and the light rays were drawn showing the focal point (where the lines met). Then a dotted line was drawn from the lens to the focal point and the line was labelled the focal length. This process was repeated with a concave lens Results As every good scientist knows the results are the main aim of the experiment and recording the results is even more important My results are attached on the A3 pieces of paper. Evaluation I will now evaluate my work to date be referring the aim set at the beginning of the assignment and will evaluate and analyse my performance and accomplishment the objectives. Shown above is the initial aim which was stated within the introduction. When I first created this aim I thought I would have an easy journey. As I carried out my experiment, the errors that I encountered were many, to my surprise. However, in the end I successfully carried out the experiment and come out with positive results. Whilst carrying out this experiment I encountered many unexpected errors and I had to overcome them on the spot. As I was conducting my experiment the first error I encountered was that the light box would not turn on. At first I thought it was the power pack and replaced it but that did not seem to work. After replacing the power pack seemed to have no affect I was certain that there was something wrong with the light box so I replaced with another light box but still ended up with sane results as the first time it would not switch on. With changing the power pack and light box there was only one other thing for it the power socket was faulty. With doubt in my head I decided to use another power socket and found that the light box switched on and was working perfectly fine. From here on I did not encounter any other errors. Overall by looking at the problems and potential problems I had I think I didnt carry out a very accurate experiment. With all the minor problems I think the accuracy was not as good as it could have been. I think that the method and the equipment and the materials for this experiment are great for maximum accuracy but they do not eliminate the chance for human error. Over all out of the whole experiment I enjoyed the theory the most due to the fact that it enhanced me knowledge about preparing accurate chemical solutions and it showed me it just wasnt a basic skill but a crucial skill which involved a high level of accuracy I also enjoyed conducting the experiment even though I encountered many errors I enjoyed finding a solution to them. I also think that this experiment has challenged me mentally in every academic way. It has also helped me to develop personal thinking strategies. During this experiment I learnt quote a lot and enhanced my general knowledge of chemicals as a whole and I learnt practical skills of preparing chemical solutions which I will be able to use in the future. Over all this experiment has been an interesting and an enlightening experience which I have gained many skills and much knowledge even though I had encountered many problems I enjoyed the experiment thoroughly and would gladly repeat it.

Disc Week Six Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Disc Week Six - Essay Example A typical inductive reasoning relation to what Hacker describes would be the probability that it will be sunny at 12 noon. If for the case that the past three days it has been sunny at noon, then through generalization or inductive reasoning, then the fourth day would also be sunny. That is based on facts or a certain pattern that has occurred sequentially over a period of time. So upon collected facts that for three days it has been sunny, we can be assured to make a concrete assumption that the same will occur on the fourth day. Thus this is defined as inductive reasoning. Another assumption would be generalizing that an employee from company MMM who resides far from the work place will always come to work 30 minutes late. The assumption is that, if the employee has reported to work late on several instances that means through the generalization theorem, it’s probable that they are likely to do a repeat of same. The main motion behind inductive reasoning is that the assumption is based on a set of facts that have been previously encountered and the end product is a general

Write a summary on the short story the necklace Essay

Write a summary on the short story the necklace - Essay Example She hates her world of â€Å"poverty† and its â€Å"worn walls† and yearns for â€Å"large parlors, decked with old silk†¦coquettish little rooms, perfumed†¦Ã¢â‚¬ These are opposing images that describe the life that Mathilde has and the life she would have rather wanted for herself. Because of what she thinks she is born for, she has become a discontented woman. Furthermore, the necklace is a social status symbol. It stands for the social class that Mathilde wanted to climb, but failed to do so. Mathilde has too much pride; she believes herself to be superior to her social class. Her thoughts are devoted to the notion that she should be â€Å"envied,† â€Å"seductive† and â€Å"sought after.† de Maupassant employs dramatic irony to foreshadow the inevitability of Mathilde’s great loss, when Mme. Forester easily lends her a supposedly-expensive necklace. Somehow, this already points out that the necklace might not be that expensive after all. Still, Mathilde has chosen that necklace precisely because it fits the self-importance she has attached herself to. Mathilde paid a heavy literal and figurative price for her materialism. She is immersed in dreams of grandeur and a better life, a life of parties and luxurious material possessions. When she gets invited to a grand party, she wants a new dress, even if they can hardly afford it, and even borrows a diamond necklace, without thinking of the risks involved. When she loses the necklace, she almost loses her mind. She and her husband bought a new one to replace the lost necklace. From here, Mathilde learns â€Å"rough work of the household, the odious labors of the kitchen.† Situational irony is shown here, because Mathilde only wanted to be beautiful and sought after for one night, but she paid for this night with ten years of hard work that reduced her physical beauty. Hence, she paid a literal and figurative cost for

The Core Objective Of JWD Organisations

The Core Objective Of JWD Organisations The case study that we are going to cover is of JWDs consulting project management intranet site project, the objective of this case is to identify and to recognize the critical assumptions and constraints of project management. The core objective of JWD is to provide world class project management services related to project management to various organizations that is in need for better project management services. According to the CEO of JWD, Joe Fleming the company can streamline its services and also can increase and maintain its business opportunities and services by providing all the informations related to project management and its services on the companys intranet site, to make the services and products informations available to its current and potential clients. Objectives The business objective of JWD is to formulate strategies to find new opportunities and to continue their growth in the market along with increasing the profitability of the company. The major objective of the company in formulating the project management intranet site is to support the objectives as defined by the company in its strategy and to increase the visibility of the expertise of the firm to its internet. The company will not only achieve their strategic objectives but also help in reducing the organizations internal costs by presenting standard tools, techniques, templates, and project management knowledge to all the internal consultants that are associated to the company. The project management intranet site will give a threshold to the company in meeting those objectives finally. Current situation and problem/opportunity statement JWD currently has a fully functioning web site as well as a corporations intranet; the organization uses the website to provide information about the company. And the intranet is basically used for providing human resource information to the employees such as let know the employees about the hours where they have to put their efforts on various projects and also let know the employee about their benefits and other assets and also allowing them to change certain informations about them at times. The other major advantages of the intranet for the employees is that they can access the online directory related to the company and its clients, the intranet also provides the employees with the benefit of using the web based e-mail system where they can read and compose mails from their ID that is given to them from the company. The firm also uses an enterprise-wide project management system where the firm can track the progress in the projects and other reports and processes that is going on in the organization. The major focus of the enterprise-wide project management system is that it can focus on the status of deliverables and other meetings scopes, time and cost goals. The opportunity that the company has about including a new section on the companys intranet is that of sharing the consultants project management information and knowledge across the organization. The main point about the JWD consultancy is that it recruits only professional and experienced consultants that have wide knowledge and an area of expertise in the field of consultancy and gives them freedom to work on projects that they feel feasible according to the corporations requirements, and which they think might fit in the structure of the organization. However even the most experienced and the most talented professionals is seeking for advice in the company on how to work effectively and efficiently as the business is growing exponentially and the projects are becoming more and more complex. Critical assumptions and constraints The intranet site that is proposed should be a valuable asset to the company as the company had invested a huge amount and resources in the project. For the success of the project many factors plays a major role such as the consultants and the clients should actively support the project to give a threshold and a sense of satisfaction to the company as it is very important for the company to keep their morale up. The intranet site must have the capability of generating back the amount that was invested in the project by reducing the internal costs of various other processes that were going on in the organization before the introduction of the project of intranet site, and also to provide new business opportunities to the company. The main part that is to be played in the success and the initiation of the intranet site project should be that of the project manager who should make sure that all the processes related to the project is successfully implemented and is of worth. Secondly there should be an active participation in the project by expertise from various sections of the company as well as from the clients organization. The new system should be capable of running on the existing softwares and hardwares of the company so that no extra cost of implementing new hardware and software should be faced by the company. One more thing that the software should be capable of is that the software should be very handy to use i.e. there should be no complexity in operating the software by the client and other user form the public so that no extra cost should be faced by the company in providing the training and knowledge about the software. But the main thing is that the software should be secured enough so that no unauthenticated user can access the data that is not meant for him. Analysis of options and recommendations There are three options before the company to address the opportunity The first option before the company is to do nothing i.e. any need for any new software or service solution as the business is doing well, new service can only make the job more complicated for the company. The second option before the company is to buy new specialized software rather than building one and to make a little development about the software to increase and to maintain its capability in the company. The third option before the company was to design and develop new intranet capabilities in the company itself using mostly the resources that they already had with them like the existing hardwares and softwares and the human resource that they have in the organization. Based on the discussion that was done with the stakeholders the ultimate conclusion that JWD arrived to is to use the third option. 6. Preliminary project requirement The major features and services that the intranet site promises to provide are: The intranet site will give user an access to several project management templates and tools. I.e. the user must be able to use the templates and tools and also get have access to the instructions of how to use these templates and tools along with the examples to use these templates and tools on real time projects and services. One more feature that is included is that the user will be able to submit new templates and tools that can prove to be beneficial for the company and also reflects the users ability. The submission of templates and tools are subjected to be first edited and screened from the project management office. The user will have an access to related project management articles that will help them in working on their own project. The clients and consultants will feel as there is an information overload when they will research on the project management information. This results in the wasting of precious time that they should be spending with their clients. The new intranet facility will include an access to all the project management articles that will prove to be very important in the project management, the articles will be made available to be searched by the topic name, this will save the precious time of the user and hence results in high productivity. The user can also send a command to the project management office requesting them to find additional articles that will meet their needs. The intranet site will also have links to other main web-sites that will help the users in gaining important knowledge about the subjects. The site will also have a brief description about the external web-sites. The site will have a very important feature named ask the experts that will help in building relationship with the current and the future clients, this feature will also help in sharing knowledge with the internal consultants. The intranet will have appropriate security measures so that only authenticated persons can get the informations and no person can get that information that is not meant for him, only the internal consultants and the authenticated persons can have access to the required information. The site must have a feature to charge for the premium services to the internal members and the internal consultants. The site must also have a feature to charge the external users for some features. The payment option should have a credit card option along with other payment options. The user should be able to download the required information and data only after the verification of the payment. The other features that should be included in the site should be suggested by the users. 7. Budget estimates and financial analysis The JWD consultancy estimated the cost for the entire project to be $1, 40,000. The estimate that the consultancy arrived at is based on the factors that the project manager has to work for 20 hours per week in a total for about 6 months, and the other internal staff that is estimated to be working for 60 hours per week for a total duration of 6 months. The customer representatives were not considered to be paid under the project, the staff project managers pay will be $50 per hour, the pay of other members of the project management staff was considered to be $70 per hour, some initial cost were also estimated to be $10,000 for purchasing softwares and services from suppliers. After the completion of the project JWD estimated that the cost for the management and the maintenance of the software thereafter is estimated to be $40,000 per year by the company, this cost that was estimated were primarily to update the ask the expert feature and the online articles. The projected benefits were based on the reduction of hours that the consultants will spend on doing the research on the project management information, tools and templates and other related features. The projected benefits that the consultancy estimated were of the profit and new services that the project will develop for the country and hence will count in the companys revenue. The company estimated that if 400 consultants will save 40 hours per year and if they could bill that time span to other projects that have generated a profit of $10 per hour, then it is estimated by the company that they could earn a profit of $1, 60,000 per annum, and if the intranet produces new business by 1% then it is estimated that the profit generated by the new project would be at least $ 40,000 per annum. Therefore the total profit that the company estimated would be around $ 2, 00,000 per annum. 8. Schedule estimate The sponsors of the company were hoping to see the project completed within six months, but there were flexibility in the schedule. The estimated life cycle of the product was assumed to be around 3 years by the company, and the product is considered to be very useful in its lifetime. 9. Potential risks Several risks were involved with this project. The first and the foremost risk that was assumed by the company was that of the internal consultants and the external clients, as they dont have any idea about the interest of the clients and the internal consultants in the new system i.e. the clients and the internal consultants were not satisfied that if the project will be proved to be fruitful and will be profitable for the organization. User input also has a great significance and is very crucial for the system to be successful as the users are the ones that populate the data into the system, and the users were the ones that could tell the efficiency of the system and also realize the potential benefits of using the system. The technical risks that were involved in the system were the searching method that was used to search the data on the intranet, and the security risks that were involved in the system like that of hacking into the system and the failure of the payment system. But the system were using only that technologies that are technically proven by the experts therefore, there is a very little chance that the system will fail because of the technical failure. The major business risks that were included in the system are the risk of the investment of money and time along with the investment of human resource. One more major business risk associated with the system is that of the projected benefits of the system i.e. not realizing the projected benefits of the system would be a great business risk for the organization as the organization would suffer a huge loss if they couldnt identify the potential of the software. 10. Exhibits (Budgeting) Exhibit A: financial analysis for the project management intranet site Table : financial exhibit Project charter Project title The title of the project was project management intranet site project Project start date The project was scheduled to be started on May, 2, 2008 Project finish date The project was scheduled to be ended on November, 4, 2008 Budget information The budget that the firm allocated for the project management intranet site was $ 1, 40,000. The initial estimate that the project manager estimated was a total of 80 hours per week work and that work was estimated to be done by internal labors majorly. Project manager Erica bell was appointed as the project manager for the whole project. Project objectives The objective before the firm was to develop a new capability that is accessible on JWD consulting intranet site, the main task of the site will be to help internal and external customers in managing new projects effectively and conveniently. The main features of the site is that the site will contain several tools and techniques that can be downloaded by the authenticated users and the outside users after paying some amount, the site will also contain examples of completed projects and templates that will be based on real time projects and that can be used by the internal consultants and clients for detailed understanding and completion of their projects effectively, the site will also contain important articles based on project management topics and that can also be used for gaining knowledge and understanding about the project management related topics, the site will also have an article retrieval service that will allow the user to send their query for the related article to the project management section and the project management section will made available those articles to the user. The intranet site will also have links to various other useful sites with a brief overview of the contents and the usefulness of the site, this feature will help the user in getting all the information about any related topic that they are unable to find on the companys intranet site. The intranet site will also have an ask the expert feature on the site that will help the users to post questions and queries that they have about any project, after asking the advice from the experts about a related project the user will get an expert advice on how to tackle that problem and the related strategies about that project. Some sections of the intranet site will be made available to the user so that they can access for free of cost, the other features of the site will be paid for the external users. But most of the section of the intranet site will be accessible to current customers and the internal consultants of the company, but there could be some features for which the internal consultants and the clients would have to pay, that features would be the value added or the add-on features of the site. Approach The approach applied by the firm on the project is: The first thing that the project management team does is that they conducted a survey among the consultants and the customers to determine the critical features of the new intranet site. The second approach that the project management team applied is to review the external and internal templates and to review the project management documents thoroughly. The third approach by the project management team is concerned with the security and the accessibility features of the intranet site i.e. the project management team researched on the softwares that will provide the security features, manage user inputs in a corrected and well accessible mode, facilitate the articles, and to use and to implement the ask the experts feature. The fourth approach that had being taken by the project management team is to use the iterative approach to develop the intranet site i.e. to continuously feed suggestions from descent users and to make the changes accordingly if applicable anywhere in the site like that related to the security features, and the applications. The fifth approach that the project management team has taken is related to the financial aspects of the project intranet site i.e. the team is developing approach to determine the ways to measure the value of the intranet site in terms of reduced costs and in terms of finding ways to generate new revenues, both of these strategies is being monitor during the project and for one year period after the completion of the project. Roles and responsibilities Table : role and responsibilities of the team Comments: I will support this project as time allows, but I believe my client project take priority. I will have one of my assistants support the project as needed-Michael Chen We need to be extremely careful testing this new system, especially the security in giving access to parts of the intranet site to the public and clients.-Kevin Dodge and Cindy Dawson Project management planning Planning phase in the project management process is considered to be the most difficult phase as it consists of various processes and often is an unappreciated process. As planning is not always facilitated therefore many peoples assume that project planning is a vein process and view it in negativity. The main purpose of the project planning is to guide the project in executing successfully. And to successfully execute the project it is necessary that the planning for the project execution should be realistic and useful i.e. it should be feasible, therefore a fair amount of time and process is required for the project planning process. In the project planning process peoples who is knowledgeable with the project planning phase should work on the project planning process. The planning and processes table explains all the areas of project management planning like knowledge area of the project, planning process of the project, and the outputs that the team was getting after executing each and every task. In view of the fact that the project management intranet site project was relatively small therefore, the project manager Erica believes that the most important planning documents that the team should consider should be the: A team contract that will bound the team to their responsibilities. A project scope statement that will clarify the scope and other aspects of the project A work breakdown structure i.e. WBS should also be included. The team will also need to formulate a Gantt chart analysis that will cover all the dependencies and the resources that is entered. All the documents that were discussed and other information that is related to the project will be available to all the team members so, that the team members would have a detailed understanding of all the processes that is going on and will have a chance to make suggestions wherever applicable. JWD consulting had already used project websites for quite a few years and had been very successful in facilitating communications and document related informations. JWD consulting had also created project organization charts, along with a formal communications management plans, quality management plan, a detailed cost estimate plan, procurement plans, and other planning documents that is really helpful for the company in formulating strategies and other plans. As soon as the project team had signed the charter, the project manager Erica organized a team-builder meeting related to the project management intranet site, the purpose of calling the meeting was that she wants each and every person of the group to get comfortable with each other i.e. she wanted that each person in the group should not be shy of any other person of the group and should feel comfortable with working with them, Erica herself had talked and met other members of the team personally and shared her professional experiences with them, this was the very first time that the whole project team is spending much time together. The team members consisted of Jessie faue who worked with Erica in the project management office, therefore they knew each other very well, but as Jessie was new to the company therefore she needed a team gathering to interact with others, Michael Chen was the senior consultant for the firm and had been involved in highest priority projects for the exte rnal clients, Michael attended the meeting with his assistant Jill Anderson who will support the project in the absence of micheal, michaels involvement in the project was a double benefit for the team as he is very straightforward in dealing clients and is very experienced in his field, Michaels assistance would also be a great benefit for the team as Michael knew both of the client representatives from past projects. Kevin dodge was JWDs intranet guru who had a great insight of technical aspects and had a very good experience in this area. Cindy Dawson was also from the IT department of JWD and she also had a good experience in working as a business consultant and has remarkable negotiating skills. Kim Phuong and page miller was the two client representatives, and they were very excited about the project, but they were cagey of sharing sensitive information about their company with the team of JWD. Erica had used certain techniques to let the team members get to know each other, she asked everyone about their dream vacations and where they want to spend most of their time, this activity proved to be an ice-breaker activity for the team as everybody felt relaxed after sharing their thoughts with each other. After the session, Erica explained each and every aspect related to the project to the team and also explained the importance of the project and other major aspects, she also explained that the most important thing in working as a team is an effective teamwork therefore she then asked everyone to sign a contract that every person in the group felt comfortable in signing the project. Contract signing between the team members for all projects had always been the key strategy of JWD to help in promoting the team work and to clarify the communication between the team. Erica then explained the major aspects of the contract explaining all the details and aspects related to the contract, and then showed the team a sample template related to the contract. Erica then divided the project management team into a group of two, the first group is the group consisting of all the members from the consulting department and in the other group she departs all the members of the information technology department. This strategy of Erica helped the team as all the members are now related to a particular group where they expertise their field, now everyone can provide their ideas and contribute to the knowledge related to the project in their fields. Table : planning processes and output Scope statement Project name: project management intranet site project Date: may 18, 2008 Prepared by: Erica bell, project manager Project justification The CEO of JWD consulting, requested this project to support the company in meeting its strategic goals. The main features of the intranet site is that the site would increase transparency of the companys products and services to the current clients and to the potential clients, with the help of the intranet which would be available to the clients and potential clients. The intranet site will also help the company in reducing its internal costs and also help in streamlining the processes and operations that is going on in the company, the intranet site will also help the company to increase the companys profitability by providing new opportunities, standard tools, new techniques, templates for assistance in project development, and will also provide project informations and knowledge to internal clients. The budget passed for the project is $ 1, 40,000. An additional amount of $ 40,000 per year will also be required after the completion of the project for the maintenance of the site and to include new features in the site. The benefits that are estimated that the site would produce per year would be $200,000 per year by generating new businesses. It is very important to keep focused on the system paying for itself i.e. the amount that is invested in the development of the project, within one year of the completion of the project. Project management related deliverables Business case, charter, team contract, scope statement, WBS, schedule, cost baseline, status report, final project presentation, final project report, lessons-learned report, and other related documents are important for the management of this project. Project execution Executing any project involves taking necessary actions to ensure all the processes are executed and is complied in the project management plan. Project execution also includes the work that is required to include any new hardware or software or any new process to include into normal operations. Most of the products that the project had promised to deliver had been completed in the project execution phase and usually requires most of the resources to accomplish most of the processes. All the processes are like knowledge area, executing processes, and the output of the project execution phase is listed in the planning process and outcome table. The main focus of many customers and project sponsors is the outcome that is related to providing the products, services, or the particular result that is desired from that project. Besides the outputs that are listed below other outputs are equally important like change requests, corrective actions. As the project was relatively smaller project, therefore it was very much possible for Erica to work closely with other team members on the project to make sure that they all are working correctly and in the right direction. Erica had a very good networking with peoples across the world that can help her whenever there is any problem related to the project, through networking Erica can well take advantages of her networking skills by getting the work done through other peoples in the firm and external peoples without any additional cost. She assured everyone that whoever uses the intranet application will also understand that they were producing as part of the project and assured them that this project will surely help each and every one of them in the future. Erica knew that providing a strong leadership and using excellent communication skills will surely help in the project execution in a much better way. that the firm majorly uses to outsource the portions of the projects. Erica knew that Joe the CEO of the company and other project sponsors would like to see project reports and progress made in the project through milestone reports therefore Erica formed a milestone report based on that. Joe also wanted Erica to alert him to any potential issues and problems whichever arrived in the project, Erica used to meet all the project team members to talk on the issue quite frequently and also use to give Joe review about the ongoing in the project on a regular basis like once in a week or after completing a particular milestone. Instead of using the project management software, Erica used the word processing software to create milestone report because the project was a relatively low level project, and she can very well manipulate the report format easily in the word processing software. Table : milestone report as of June 17, 2008 Gantt chart Network Diagram Note: Path shown in red color is critical path. Many conflicts did arrive in several meetings like conflicts on human resource and other issues. Sometimes it often happened that Michael seemed a little bored and Erica did noticed that thing, Michael often left the room in the middle of the meetings to talk to other clients, seeing that Erica asked Michael about the situation and found that though Michael was supportive for the project but he told Erica that he can only spend a little time for the project. Erica saw that Michael was much more productive outside the meetings, therefore Erica thought that Michael should attend minimal time for team meetings and should concentrate on other issues like project development and related issues, Erica saw that Michael was contributing to the team by contributing to the team by providing the feedbacks and also through his leadership on the ask the expert feature for the intranet site. Therefore Erica adjusted his communication style and allowed Michael to manage the things as he would like to manage. Another major conflict arose when Cindy was contacting the potential suppliers for asking assistance on ask the exert feature and related user request features. Kevin wanted to develop and write all the software for the project itself but instead Cindy insisted on purchasing the softwares and thought it would produce more business sense to buy all the softwares from a reliable source. Cindy had to convince Kevin to buy the software requirements and that it would be more effective if we purchase the required softwares from reliable sources. Cindy discovered that their estimate of $ 10,000 to buy the software was only half of the amount that were needed for the project, she therefore discussed this problem with Erica explaining the need for custom development of the softwares no matter which supplier they choose for the project. Erica therefore agreed on to buy the softwares from some outside source, and therefore asked the suppliers to approve the additional funding that is required for the software. Joe did agree on to allocate additional amount but he still emphasized on the fact that the project should pay for itself within one year of completion of the project. Erica also had to ask Joe on the matter that the project team were receiving low responses from the user on the surveys and requests. Therefore Joe sent out an email to all the JWD consulting consultants and other employees requesting them to provi

Feminist Movement Essay -- essays research papers

Feminist Movement   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  In the aftermath of World War II, the lives of the women have changed dramatically. Women spoke their minds out and wanted to be heard. World War II brought them a new outlook on how they should live their lives. It encouraged women organize social movements such as boycotts and public marches pushing for their human rights and protect them against discrimination. Alongside, they formed their own organization representing them against the federal government like the NOW or National Organization for Women. Through the years, women have been struggling to fight for equal rights and unfortunately still exist even at the present in some areas. Yes, women’s status was not like what they used to back then, where their roles where to stay home do household chores and take care of the children. Now, women have grown to be a new person. They have accomplished their goals and work wherever they want these days. But despite of their success in the feminist movements, it was all due to their personal struggle and hard work. The feminist movement has changed women’s status in the history of our society socially, politically, and economically. The changes made, influenced the society in positive and negative outcomes.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Traditionally, women are stereotyped as being committed to only on doing household works but in our society today, they play significant roles not only at home but also in workplaces such as schools, offices, and businesses. They are now able to have the careers of their choice, and even have the same careers as men do. For example, back then being a police officer is ought to be a man’s job. Nowadays, one can see a woman entering different fields of occupation like in law, carpentry, medicine and sports. This proves that women have as equal rights as men.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Although women have attained such freedom, they tend to take advantage of it and go overboard. Women, today, are very liberated on how they present themselves in society. To be more specific, is how they dress and act or the way they carry themselves in public. For instance, Britney Spears, a famous entertainer, dresses immodestly and act wildly by doing things under the influence of alcohol such as getting married and getting annulled the next day. Unluckily, as a public figure she is being looked up to especially by young girls. They try to copy her and wear too ... ...me negative outcome, it is still a very significant event that greatly affected the modern society. Women today owe their freedom to the women suffragists who fought for all of the women’s rights today. Today’s women should pay their respect to the women of the past by celebrating their freedom and by continuing what they have started. If it were not for the suffragists’ courage and bravery, the world would have been so different from now. Without their movement, modern women would not be able to attain so much freedom such as being able to work, to get involve in politics and become leaders, and being able to own businesses. Such freedom has opened many doors for women all over the world at the present and in the future. Work Cited 1. Banks, Oliver. Faces of Feminism. New York: St. Martin’s Press, Inc., 1981 2. It/205 Week 8 Checkpoint

The U. S. Census Bureau attempted to employ a Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) program to expedite the collection of information. The FDCA project is important to the Census Bureau for many reasons. The first reason is the reduction of costs associated with the collection of information. Going door to door with paper forms is costly. The actual forms that are used cost the government mass amounts of money to produce. These forms are then peddled door to door by people who are paid wages and completed in ink by residents. The forms then need to be submitted to a local office where another worker who also needs to be paid for their time then keys the information in manually. These numbers and data are influential in allocating federal monies to certain areas of each state and county. Additionally, senate district lines are drawn based on population. If these figures are inaccurate, due to human error, funds that are generally allotted for a certain area could be reduced. This red uction could affect many programs in the area.Road upkeep, social services and emergency response are just a few of the areas that could be impacted. Simply put, accurate data collection is needed to ensure that everyone in all parts of the country get their fair share. The failed implementation of the wireless handheld devices was plagued with issues from every level and department. On the federal level, lack of oversight posed the largest issue. The federal sector suffers from lack of oversight because in the private sector incentives are offered for the successful, timely and cost effective rollout of similar programs.Because no one was to receive bonuses or other incentives on the federal level a lack of oversight was easily achieved. The Harris Corporation was contracted to build and test the handheld devices including the software. The federal government did not effectively convey information about the census program to Harris. This poor communication made the development of t he handheld devices extremely difficult. Harris was also at fault for not providing updates on progress. The program was also plagued with technology issues caused by miscommunication.Risk management was not adequately studied to show potential issues with the handheld devices. The devices were plagued with slow speeds while transmitting information to a central office. Once the information was received other bugs and flaws within the system made the information inaccurate. The government and Harris both share the blame for the conundrum that ended up costing taxpayers billions of dollars. The risks involved with this project were easily visible from the beginning. With so much federal money on the line simple steps could have been taken to ensure that taxpayer burden would be minimized. The first step that should have been taken was to set up a committee or group of people that including congressmen, technology consultants and financial advisors. When undertaking such a large and co stly undertaking with taxpayer money at stake it is necessary to be accountable. Members of the staff on the federal and private end should have been in constant contact with each other to ensure that problems and issues were resolved.I would have set up a liaison at each end so they could effectively relay the needs of the government to Harris and Harris could relay known issues with the government. Testing and risk assessment should have been a priority and as such should have properly researched and monitored throughout the entire process. All technical specifications should have been clearly communicated between both entities and having a liaison on both ends would have facilitated proper development. I would have ensured that wireless networks were available at certain areas and that proper software was written that was bug free long before actual rollout. It/205 Week 8 Checkpoint The U. S.
